AI cybersecurity startups Armadin and Reco secure major funding
The cybersecurity sector is seeing significant investment in 'agentic security' as companies race to secure AI agents. Palo Alto-based startup Armadin, founded by Mandiant creator Kevin Mandia, raised $255.5 million in a Series B funding round at a $2.5 billion valuation. Led by Andreessen Horowitz and Accel, the company utilizes AI agents to simulate attacks on a customer’s own network to identify vulnerabilities.
Separately, Florida-based Reco raised $55 million in additional funding, bringing its total raised to $140 million. Reco focuses on providing visibility and control over AI agents that access business applications and data. The company’s platform integrates with over 280 apps to monitor for suspicious behavior and unauthorized data flows caused by expanding AI agent connectivity.
