AI-Driven Health Initiatives: Novo Nordisk Partners with H1 and US Genesis Mission Launched
H1 announced a partnership with Novo Nordisk to apply artificial‑intelligence tools to clinical development. The collaboration will create AI‑ready data sets and workflows to speed drug discovery, improve trial site selection and enrollment, and accelerate approvals. H1 will also acquire rights to StudyHub, Novo Nordisk’s digital platform. "In this age of AI, the way clinical trials should be executed needs to change," said Ariel Katz, CEO of H1. Mishal Patel of Novo Nordisk added that AI will reduce cycle times and improve decision‑making across the development lifecycle.
Separately, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched the Genesis Mission, a White House‑backed effort to harness AI and advanced computing for biomedical research. The initiative, announced under President Trump, will issue national science and technology challenges to address chronic disease causes, accelerate pediatric cancer research and transform drug discovery. NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya emphasized the urgency, stating that patients cannot wait decades for breakthroughs and that AI can help deliver faster results.
Both efforts illustrate a growing focus on AI to improve health outcomes, from corporate drug development to government‑driven research programs.
