AI-enabled energy project launched in New South Wales

An artificial intelligence-enabled renewable energy project has launched in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales to support the Gibraltar Bowral hotel and events venue. The project coordinates existing solar power with new battery storage using Sungrow’s ST200CF Powerkeeper battery energy storage system (BESS).

The system utilizes an AI Energy Management System developed by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney. This technology enables autonomous charge-discharge optimization based on solar output, site load, electricity prices, and grid conditions. This integration aims to boost renewable self-consumption and energy resilience while supporting broader community energy goals through virtual power plant (VPP) dispatch.
