AI-enabled Medicaid Fraud Scheme and Large-Scale Data Breaches

Four Minnesota men pleaded guilty to a Medicaid fraud scheme that generated about $2.2 million in false housing‑related claims. Prosecutors said the defendants used artificial‑intelligence tools, including ChatGPT, to create fabricated documentation supporting the fraudulent billing.

A data leak linked to the Tribeca Film Festival exposed roughly 666,000 records containing personal information of attendees and industry contacts. The breach included names, email addresses, phone numbers and limited device data.

Australian energy provider Origin Energy confirmed a breach affecting around 900,000 current and former customers. Exposed data may comprise names, contact details, dates of birth and partial account information, prompting the company to warn customers about possible scams.

Security researchers identified two beta versions of the Joyfill npm packages distributing DEV#POPPER, a remote‑access trojan capable of stealing information and executing commands on developer machines.
