Ai Everything event gathers global tech leaders in Abu Dhabi

The 'Ai Everything' event held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) brought together technology companies, academics, and investors from over 60 countries. The gathering featured more than 400 artificial intelligence infrastructure providers and startups, alongside over 200 investors. Major corporations including Amazon, Intel, and Microsoft participated to showcase various AI solutions.

Marc Raibert, co-founder of Boston Dynamics and Executive Director of the Robotics and AI Institute (RAI), highlighted the rapid developments and significant investments within the physical AI and robotics sectors over the last two years. Raibert noted that while large language models have easy access to massive internet-scale data, collecting data for physical robots remains a significant challenge.

To address this, the RAI is working on long-term solutions to enhance the capabilities of next-generation robots, such as improving manual dexterity. Raibert mentioned the 'Watch, Understand, Do' project, which utilizes large language models to teach robots specific tasks.
