AI adoption accelerates across the Brazilian insurance sector
The Brazilian insurance sector is undergoing a significant digital transformation driven by artificial intelligence. Major players are implementing AI to enhance productivity, automate claims, and improve customer engagement.
Bradesco Seguros has launched a pilot project for advertisements within ChatGPT, starting with auto insurance. Meanwhile, Porto Seguro has introduced a generative AI conversational agent on WhatsApp, which has already automated 70% of theft and robbery claim openings with high customer satisfaction. In the transport segment, Sompo Seguros reports that 90% of risk assessment processes are supported by AI, significantly reducing non-productive time.
Other advancements include Zurich reducing auto claim approval times from nine days to one through AI-driven damage assessment via photos. The industry is also seeing a shift toward AI agents that can interact with brokers; Junto Seguros has implemented a solution allowing brokers to manage portfolios using natural language. Despite these efficiencies, experts note that while AI scales operations and reduces manual tasks like data entry, it is intended to augment rather than replace human responsibility in the insurance ecosystem.
