AI Festa 26 opens in Seoul amid major tech industry developments

The AI Festa 26 event is being held in Seoul from October 6 to 8, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The conference features 216 companies and 501 booths, focusing on the practical application of artificial intelligence in industries, including AI agents, physical AI, robotics, and AI semiconductors.

Key participants include global experts from Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Perplexity, as well as academic leaders like Yoshua Bengio. The event showcases technological advancements such as AI-driven business automation, autonomous driving software, and edge AI NPU technologies from companies like DeepX and Mobilint.

Parallel to the tech summit, the South Korean electronics sector is preparing for quarterly earnings reports from Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. Additionally, AMD CEO Lisa Su is scheduled to visit Seoul to meet with local NPU companies, including Rebellion and DeepX, to discuss AI computing infrastructure and semiconductor ecosystem cooperation.
