AI implementation challenges stem from organizational decision-making
AI projects often fail not due to technical limitations, but because of organizational friction in decision-making. According to Uta-Alexandra Kral of Kral-Kommunikation, different departments—such as IT, business units, compliance, and security—often view the same AI initiative through different lenses, providing specialized answers that do not necessarily constitute a final corporate decision.
While IT assesses technical feasibility and business units focus on deployment timelines, compliance and security address regulatory boundaries and data risks. The challenge for executives is that technical feasibility does not address entrepreneurial risk, and security assessments should not inadvertently become the sole decision-makers.
To address this, Kral-Kommunikation has released an executive briefing titled ‘Implementing AI without losing control,’ designed to help CEOs, COOs, and CIOs navigate these departmental perspectives to make informed strategic decisions without needing to become technical specialists.
