AI implementation reduces management workload and boosts employee autonomy

A survey by Asta Co., Ltd. involving 20 client companies shows that AI implementation significantly reduces the administrative burden on management. Following AI support, 75% of surveyed companies reported a decrease in routine inquiries from employees to managers, and 70% reported an increase in tasks that employees can complete independently.

Specifically, 60% of companies saw a reduction in the time managers spend reviewing or correcting work by at least five hours per month. The most common reduction occurred in reviewing initial drafts of documents, such as emails and reports, which accounted for 65% of the reported improvements.

In a separate initiative, Fujitsu Limited is utilizing AI to transform its internal service desk operations. By implementing AI assistants and virtual agents, the company aims to promote self-resolution of issues and automate the summarization of inquiries to generate knowledge bases. Fujitsu is working toward a ‘zero-touch service desk’ where AI handles both the initial inquiry and the subsequent processing steps.
