AI integration and regulation discussed at Rome professional summit

The fifth edition of “Lo Scenario delle Professioni” was held in Rome, focusing on the structural integration of artificial intelligence in professional workflows. Research conducted by TeamSystem and Kantar indicates a significant increase in AI usage among professionals, such as accountants, with over 70% of professionals using the technology daily.

During the event, Italian Deputy Justice Minister Francesco Paolo Sisto noted that human intuition and the ability to change one's mind remain advantages over AI. Meanwhile, European Parliament Member and AI Act rapporteur Brando Benifei discussed the regulatory framework, highlighting prohibitions on high-risk uses like uncontrolled biometric surveillance and emotion recognition in workplaces. Current efforts are focused on transparency, identifying AI-generated content, protecting copyright, and ensuring small and medium-sized enterprises are informed when dealing with large developers.
