AI adoption accelerates in insurance and HR sectors

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the insurance and human resources sectors. An Accenture study reveals that 72 percent of insurance customers expect AI to influence at least half of their research and product selection within the next year. This shift is particularly pronounced among Gen Z and Millennials, where expectations reach 86 percent. AI is also expanding consumer awareness, with 37 percent of respondents discovering previously unknown insurance providers through AI tools.

In the corporate sector, Bitkom reports that 14 percent of German companies already use AI to generate employment references, while 52 percent are considering its adoption. AI is also being utilized for employee training (16 percent) and onboarding (14 percent). However, the rise of autonomous and agentic AI presents significant governance challenges. Research indicates a gap between AI adoption and risk control, with many organizations lacking active measures to manage errors, data breaches, or the consequences of autonomous decision-making.

In India, the focus has shifted toward national readiness for AI in healthcare, supported by initiatives like the India AI Mission and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, aiming to integrate AI into diagnostics and clinical decision-making.
