AI integration expands in retail and enterprise sectors

Major companies are expanding the integration of artificial intelligence into consumer and enterprise workflows.

In Belgium, Carrefour has partnered with Mealz.ai to launch a smart grocery assistant within ChatGPT. This tool allows customers to compile shopping lists, check product availability, and place orders directly through the AI interface. Users can customize lists based on specific dietary needs and choose between in-store pickup via Carrefour Drive or home delivery within 24 hours.

On the enterprise side, Salesforce and Anthropic are broadening their strategic partnership to integrate generative AI more deeply into business operations. Through the development of ‘Claudeforce,’ the companies aim to connect AI directly with corporate data, workflows, and internal rules. A primary application is for sales teams, where the AI assistant can access account information, pipeline data, and customer history to prepare for meetings and update records. This integration utilizes APIs and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to allow AI models to consult information across various business systems, including Slack and Agentforce.
