AI integration in vocational training programs in Spain and the Dominican Republic

EIG Education in Spain has revamped its Higher Cycle in Web Application Development to make artificial intelligence a core specialization. The curriculum now embeds AI‑assisted coding, automated testing, code generation and documentation tools, and student projects that include chatbots, intelligent search and recommendation systems, often conducted with industry partners.

In the Dominican Republic, the National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP) hosted a panel on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in research and innovation. Experts from the Catholic University of Santo Domingo and the Dominican Institute for Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality highlighted AI’s role in accelerating scientific work while stressing the need for critical thinking, ethical guidelines and AI literacy to support sustainable development.
