Deezer says AI‑generated tracks now exceed half of daily uploads

Deezer reported that AI‑generated music accounted for more than 50 % of its daily uploads, reaching a peak in June 2026 with an average of 90,000 new AI tracks per day. While these tracks represent only 1 % to 3 % of total streams on the platform, up to 85 % of their plays were identified as fraudulent. In response, Deezer will remove AI tracks that have not been streamed for six months or that are linked to streaming fraud, and it will continue to label AI‑generated content to keep it out of editorial playlists and algorithmic recommendations. The company’s detection system, deployed since early 2025, can identify synthetic recordings produced by models such as Suno and Udio. CEO Alexis Lanternier said, “We have reached a pivotal moment, but we have the technology to keep track of the development and an ambition to do what’s right.” The move comes as other streaming services grapple with the influx of AI‑created music and related royalty‑distribution concerns.
