AI news aggregator tested against newsletters and paywalled digital papers

A month-long test compared three ways of staying informed about world events: a single pay‑walled digital newspaper, a collection of free newsletters from various regions, and an artificial‑intelligence‑assisted news aggregator without a subscription fee. Subscription prices were taken from the Sole 24 Ore price list (Digital Base €29.90/month, Digital Plus €35.00/month). The evaluation recorded article accessibility, geographic variety, duplication of content, time required from login to reading, presence of advertising, and user‑interface data‑collection practices.

The AI‑driven aggregator showed many duplicate articles and required extra steps to bypass paywalls, while the paid digital paper offered fewer duplicates but involved higher cost and occasional external paywalls. Free newsletters provided broad geographic coverage but varied in depth. The study highlighted trade‑offs between cost, content redundancy, and the amount of manual work needed to obtain a complete news picture.
