AI platforms aim to reduce agricultural trade barriers

Artificial intelligence platforms are being developed to address information gaps and logistical challenges in the global agricultural trade sector. These technologies aim to connect small-scale farmers, suppliers, and exporters with international buyers by providing transparent, structured data.

Tridge, led by CEO Hoshik Shin, utilizes a database covering 300,000 agricultural stock-keeping units and 11 million food products to help smaller businesses navigate market discovery and sales. The platform leverages accumulated product data and cloud computing to standardize product specifications, packaging, and quality standards that often vary across international markets.

Similarly, AgriGuru Online, as discussed by founder Hansa Shingrakhia at the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2026, focuses on providing authentic commodity pricing. The platform seeks to mitigate the impact of geopolitical tensions, rising freight costs, and inconsistent government policies by consolidating market developments, trade documentation, and real-time pricing into a single accessible source for buyers and sellers.
