AI platforms Cypher AI and Perceptic secure $14M to unify pharma R&D workflows

Life‑science infrastructure startups Cypher AI and Perceptic have emerged from stealth with seed funding to build AI‑native platforms that replace fragmented spreadsheets, ELNs and LIMS in drug development. Cypher AI announced a $2 million seed round led by MaC Venture Capital, with participation from Epsilon Ventures, Connecticut Innovations, Sparta Group and LiquidMetal Ventures. Founded by former scientist Yaoyu Yang, the platform integrates experiment design, execution, data management and vendor coordination for biotech labs.

Perceptic, based in London, raised $12 million in a seed round led by Accel, alongside Air Street Capital and Elder Gull. The company’s founders, former Palantir engineers, aim to create a unified AI operating system that follows a drug from discovery through clinical development, addressing the current disjointed workflow across pharma companies. Early deployments include top‑tier pharma firms such as CSL.

Both companies target the same market gap: the lack of an end‑to‑end, AI‑driven operating layer for pharmaceutical research and development, promising faster decision‑making and reduced costs for biotech and pharma organizations.
