Model Context Protocol adoption expands AI data connectivity

Various platforms are adopting the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard created by Anthropic that allows AI assistants to connect directly to external data sources and tools.

OLED Marketplace has launched a free MCP server, enabling AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to search its display catalog and retrieve live specifications, such as resolution and brightness, directly from its database. This allows users to query specific hardware requirements using natural language rather than manual browsing.

Similarly, Semrush has implemented an MCP server to integrate its SEO data with AI models. This connection allows users to perform keyword strategy, competitive intelligence, and content optimization research through AI clients like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and VS Code by pulling real-time data via the protocol.
