The report, circulated by the social media account Arfur Grok, follows Chen’s recent announcement that he is leaving Moonshot AI, a leading Chinese AI developer, to move to the United States. While Chen has not commented and Discovery Loop has declined to discuss personnel matters, the potential move has drawn significant attention within the technology sector.

During his tenure at Moonshot AI, Chen contributed to technical improvements for the Kimi model series, enhancing resource efficiency and reducing operational costs. These advancements helped Moonshot AI’s models compete with major American products such as OpenAI’s GPT and Anthropic’s Claude.
