Japanese companies deploy AI for supply chain, recruitment, and public sector hiring

Japanese companies are increasingly deploying artificial intelligence to optimize business operations and recruitment. Hitachi, Ltd. has developed AI orchestration technology designed for the manufacturing sector. This technology coordinates AI agents across sales, production, and procurement departments to automate schedule adjustments and optimize supply chains, with a planned rollout in 2027.

In the recruitment sector, Valorize AI has launched a service for human resource companies that uses data from approximately 5 million companies to automate sales approaches. Meanwhile, HERP has secured 1.9 billion yen in funding to enhance its recruitment management systems through AI-driven matching.

Public sector adoption is also emerging, as the Ibaraki Prefectural Board of Education has implemented an AI-driven interview service, ‘en PeopleX,’ for recruiting high school principals. This tool uses conversational AI to conduct initial screenings to ensure fair and diverse candidate selection, though final decisions remain with human administrators.
