AI reshapes data analytics and pipelines, prompting new agent‑centric architecture

Artificial intelligence is automating many routine data‑analytics tasks that previously required manual SQL scripting and static dashboards. Large language models such as ChatGPT can read raw CSV files, generate SQL queries, and create visual reports, while AutoML platforms like DataRobot and H2O.ai accelerate predictive model building. Microsoft’s Copilot adds AI‑driven formula creation and dashboard generation to its business‑intelligence stack, reducing the time analysts spend on data preparation.

Airbyte’s founder and CEO Michel Tricot explains that data pipelines must be redesigned for agentic consumption rather than human‑focused dashboards. He notes, “The consumer of the product is an agent primarily. That is why we can say it is an AI product, because it is built for an agentic UX and an agentic experience.” Airbyte’s internal Hydra project reshapes connectors to match agents’ access patterns, ingesting support and error data to guide redesigns. Tricot adds, “As an organization, it has to start with you, not with the label that you put on the product.” These shifts signal a broader move toward AI‑first data infrastructure.
