AI Robotics Training in India and Reimagine Robotics' Learn-on-the-Job Robots

Thousands of workers in India are being paid about US$2 an hour to wear head‑mounted cameras and record everyday household tasks such as chopping vegetables and folding laundry. The footage is uploaded through an app to Objectways, an AI data company, to create egocentric data that helps train humanoid robots for future home‑assistant use. Analysts project the market for such robots could exceed one billion units by 2050.

Reimagine Robotics, founded by former Google DeepMind Applied Robotics leaders, has launched robots that can learn on the job. Workers demonstrate a task, the robot attempts it, and humans correct it in real time. CEO Jonathan Scholz says the approach lets robots adapt without specialist programmers. The company is already deploying the technology in advanced manufacturing, 3D‑printer operation, and hard‑drive disassembly, and plans further fundraising and expansion.
