AI security firms launch new platforms and secure funding
The cybersecurity sector is seeing new developments in the protection and deployment of artificial intelligence. Philadelphia-based Security Risk Advisors has launched SCALR AI, an agent-based workbench designed to automate security operations such as incident triage, phishing analysis, and threat hunting. The platform is available through Microsoft’s Azure Marketplace without a licensing fee, though users must cover their own Azure computing costs. To prioritize data privacy, the software operates within a customer’s private Azure tenant rather than a shared software-as-a-service model.
Separately, the startup AIR has debuted with $50 million in seed financing to secure the software supply chain for autonomous AI agents. Founded by former Israeli intelligence veterans, AIR aims to mitigate risks associated with third-party plug-ins and Model Context Protocol servers that agents use to execute tasks. The platform identifies active agents, flags unauthorized tools, and monitors external components for malicious alterations. The company has reported strong adoption in regulated industries like pharmaceuticals and financial services, currently serving over 20 corporate clients.
