AI services launched for educational tools and student mental health support

METABIRDS Co., Ltd. has launched ‘AI Teaching Material Studio,’ a web-based platform designed for schools and educational institutions. The service allows educators to create interactive learning experiences by combining 3D teaching materials with AI avatars. Users can upload 3D models, generate them via AI, or use existing videos and PDFs. The AI avatars can engage in multilingual voice conversations, making the tool useful for language learning, virtual campus tours, and digitalizing classroom content.

Separately, SoftBank has introduced ‘Mentari,’ an AI-driven service aimed at supporting teachers in monitoring student mental health. The system automates the creation, collection, and analysis of surveys regarding school life issues, such as bullying. By utilizing AI to analyze free-text responses, the service can quickly identify students in need of urgent support and notify teachers. Additionally, students can consult with an AI character named ‘Mofu’ via chat, which helps organize their thoughts and verbalize concerns without providing direct behavioral advice. The system also provides teachers with advice on response methods based on expert-supervised case studies.
