AI speeds up creation of personalized phishing scams in Slovakia

Artificial intelligence is drastically reducing the time needed to craft targeted phishing messages in Slovakia. According to Qubit Conference co‑founder Maria Krahulecová, language models can link leaked email addresses with publicly available social‑media, corporate or school data and generate a customized fraudulent email in seconds, matching the victim’s language, style and tone. She warned that even seemingly non‑sensitive data “can have high value, especially when combined with information from other sources,” and emphasized that people remain a crucial line of defence.

The rapid AI‑driven process also raises new risks for small and midsize firms. AI agents with unrestricted access are being used to read corporate mail, open documents and interact with internal systems, creating an entry point for attackers that the organisations themselves set up. The trend has prompted calls for stronger employee training, verification of unexpected requests on alternate channels, and clearer policies on AI tool usage to mitigate the growing threat of AI‑enabled cybercrime.
