AI startups aim to extend human lifespan through biomarker tracking
Startups are increasingly utilizing artificial intelligence to target longevity, aiming to achieve ‘longevity escape velocity’—a theoretical point where science extends human lifespans faster than the aging process occurs.
Filippo Nigro, co-founder of the startup You(th), is developing a platform that uses smartphone cameras and microphones paired with clinically validated AI models. This technology allows users to screen for more than 50 biomarkers to better understand their well-being. This approach seeks to make advanced health screenings, which have traditionally been the domain of expensive specialized longevity clinics, more accessible through wearables and mobile devices.
While the sector is growing, the rise of these technologies brings challenges regarding the infrastructure needed to manage massive streams of health data and ethical debates concerning the pursuit of radical life extension.
