AI startups Atomic and Verda Cloud Oy secure major funding rounds

Boston-based AI startup Atomic, founded by former Tesla team members, has secured $12.5 million in Series A funding led by Klass Capital and Madrona Venture Group. The company utilizes ‘Agentic AI’ to automate supply chain management, including inventory and procurement. Atomic’s technology allows for the simulation of operational scenarios to determine optimal stock levels and locations, with the ability to execute certain procurement tasks automatically. The startup reports that its annual recurring revenue (ARR) has increased fivefold since the beginning of the year, serving clients such as DoorDash and HelloFresh.

In a separate development, AI cloud service provider Verda Cloud Oy has raised $189 million in an oversubscribed Series B round led by Emergence Capital. This brings Verda’s total funding to over $450 million. The company intends to use the capital to expand its AI cloud computing infrastructure, including computing power, storage, and networking resources. Currently operating data centers in Finland, Verda plans to expand its services across Europe, the UK, the US, and Asia, aiming to increase its operational power capacity to over 250 MW by 2027.
