AI startups Kiin Bio and Chai Discovery advance drug discovery technology

The pharmaceutical industry is seeing increased integration of artificial intelligence to accelerate drug discovery. British life sciences startup Kiin Bio secured a €1.9 million pre-seed investment round led by b2venture to launch its KiinOS Virtual Scientist Platform. This platform aims to unify fragmented drug discovery tools through connected scientific intelligence. Additionally, Kiin Bio has entered a strategic partnership with Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD) to integrate KiinOS with the CDD Vault data management system.

In a separate development, Chai Discovery, a startup valued at $4 billion and supported by OpenAI, is advancing molecular design. The company has signed four strategic agreements at the JPM Pharma event in San Francisco. Chai Discovery utilizes AI tools that allow for molecular design with precision comparable to graphic design software, aiming to create more effective drugs with reduced toxicity risks.
