AI startups Lightsage and Lightfield raise funding for agent-centric software
Two startups are securing significant funding to develop software infrastructure specifically designed for AI agents rather than human users.
San Francisco-based Lightsage has raised $4 million in a funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners. The company is building an ‘Agent-Led Growth’ platform to help software companies optimize how AI agents discover, use, and pay for products. This approach addresses a shift where autonomous agents, such as coding assistants, make purchasing and integration decisions without human intervention.
Meanwhile, AI-native CRM startup Lightfield (officially Magical Tome Inc.) has raised $47 million in Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz. Lightfield aims to challenge established players like Salesforce and HubSpot by building a customer relationship management system designed for autonomous AI systems. The company argues that legacy CRM architectures are built for human data entry and are ill-suited for the structured needs of AI agents, which require more reliable and automated systems of record.
