AI surveillance and emergency tech deployed for fire and 911 response

The company Next has implemented an artificial intelligence-based video surveillance network in Esquel and surrounding regions in Argentina to facilitate early fire detection. The system utilizes ten existing security cameras positioned at strategic locations, including Los Cipreses, Cholila, and Los Alerces National Park. The AI software is designed to identify smoke and distinguish real fire threats from routine activities like controlled burns or urban waste areas to minimize false alarms.

In Mexico, Dahua Technology and Jomtel Telecomunicaciones are presenting an integrated technological ecosystem designed for 911 emergency centers. This proposal, prepared for NENA 911 Cancún 2026, combines emergency communication, intelligent video analytics, network infrastructure, and mobile solutions. The goal is to create a coordinated response environment by integrating tools such as IP loudspeakers, panoramic cameras, and the DSS Ultimate management platform to streamline information visualization and emergency coordination.
