AI talent development and security automation trends in South Korea
The Korea Management Association (KMA) has successfully completed a three-stage AI talent cultivation project designed to enhance employee capabilities from basic literacy to practical service development. The program concluded with an ‘AI Sprint’ where teams developed automation tools and solutions. The top prize was awarded to ‘KMA WIKI,’ an internal knowledge platform that allows users to search proposals and client information alongside supporting documents.
In the realm of cybersecurity, Red Hat APAC CTO Vincent Calderara has emphasized the need for ‘policy-driven automation’ to combat rising AI-driven hacking incidents. Speaking at the Red Hat Summit: Connect 2026, Calderara noted that while South Korea possesses strong traditional infrastructure security, there is a need to expand automation into platform management and development. He suggested transitioning from a ‘human-in-the-loop’ model, where humans approve individual tasks, to a ‘human-on-the-loop’ model, where humans oversee the entire system and define its operational boundaries.
