AI technology advances in resume generation and human-like avatars
Developments in artificial intelligence are increasingly impacting the recruitment and job application processes. Novoresume has launched an AI Resume Generator designed to mitigate inaccuracies caused by fully automated content. The tool drafts professional summaries and experience bullets based on job postings but leaves personal facts and figures as blanks for users to complete manually. This follows a Novoresume survey of 2,000 U.S. adults, which found that 25.2% of individuals who allowed AI to write most of their resume reported losing a job due to inaccuracies.
Simultaneously, the Bay Area-based startup Tavus has introduced Griffin, an AI avatar model capable of mimicking human facial expressions and gestures. In a simulation of job interviews, 48% of 54 participants mistook the AI avatar for a real human. Those who believed they were interacting with a person reported a 79% confidence level in their assessment, suggesting the technology is approaching the ability to pass the Turing Test in face-to-face communication contexts.
