AI technology applied to cultural heritage and traffic management

Artificial intelligence and digital technologies are being increasingly deployed to address cultural preservation and public safety. At the ASEAN-China Heritage Dimensions of National Arts (ACH-DNA) 2.0 program, officials highlighted how AI and digital archiving can prevent the loss of artistic heritage by bridging the gap between tradition and innovation. These tools aim to create comprehensive archives and increase global access to cultural traditions, helping to engage younger generations while maintaining cultural integrity.

In a separate application of AI, the city of Wuhu in China has introduced the Intelligent Police Unit R001, a humanoid traffic robot. Designed to assist with road safety, the wheeled robot uses AI to perform standard traffic hand signals synchronized with city traffic lights. The robot can operate autonomously, using loudspeakers to issue warnings to motorists to follow regulations or stay within designated lanes, thereby assisting human officers in managing busy intersections.
