New AI-integrated consumer technologies are expanding accessibility and communication capabilities. In Chile, the arrival of smart glasses such as Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Metacom has raised discussions regarding digital privacy and consent. Experts from the University of Chile note that while the core privacy issues regarding consent remain similar to smartphone use, the inconspicuous nature of smart glasses makes it harder for bystanders to realize they are being recorded or monitored.

In the mobile sector, Samsung Galaxy devices now feature an integrated Interpreter function via Galaxy AI. This tool allows for real-time voice and text translation using a split-screen interface. Notably, the feature can operate without an internet connection provided that language packs are downloaded locally to the device, facilitating communication during travel without relying on mobile data or Wi-Fi.
