Security teams at X have identified and shut down a Chinese bot farm that used AI-generated content to spread anti-AI sentiment. The operation involved approximately 200,000 bots, with 200 accounts posting mass content designed to manipulate discussions surrounding American AI and energy policy. These bots utilized illustrations created with ChatGPT to spread misinformation regarding the impact of AI on energy security and pricing.

Separately, Bill Gates has issued a warning regarding the societal disruptions caused by artificial intelligence. In a recent essay, the Microsoft co-founder suggested that humanity is entering one of its most confusing eras due to the lack of a transition plan for AI integration. Gates argued that certain roles must be reserved exclusively for humans to preserve essential qualities like empathy. He proposed three major interventions: establishing new domestic and international regulatory institutions similar to nuclear or aviation oversight, designating specific human-only occupations, and implementing taxes on AI and robotics to mitigate the displacement of human labor.
