AI technology helps manage household and childcare tasks

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being utilized to manage the mental load and logistical complexities of household and childcare responsibilities. In Japan, a survey by Mynavi revealed that 50.5% of full-time employees raising children are using generative AI to improve efficiency and alleviate domestic concerns.

Expert Mari Miyazaki highlights that while many use AI for casual consultation, there is significant potential in creating personalized systems tailored to specific family needs, such as managing schedules for multiple children of different ages. She encourages users to move past the idea that AI should only be used for complex tasks, noting its effectiveness in handling mundane daily queries.

Complementing software-based AI, hardware manufacturers like LG are integrating AI into physical appliances. For example, the LG WashTower AI automatically selects optimal settings for various fabric types, aiming to reduce the number of daily decisions parents must make regarding repetitive chores like laundry.
