AI tools boost productivity for solo entrepreneurs
Artificial intelligence is being promoted as a practical assistant for independent entrepreneurs, handling routine tasks such as document categorisation, email management, file naming and content repurposing. Columnist Anna Burgess Yang explains that AI now performs about 90 % of her routine organising work, freeing time for business development, and can automatically generate drafts for social‑media posts, newsletters and other formats from a single article.
At the same time, research cited by The Guardian shows that people correctly identify AI‑written text only around 60 % of the time. The study’s “Bot or Not” game revealed that participants rely on superficial cues, which are often shared with human writing, making AI‑generated content increasingly indistinguishable. Linguists warn that AI language models are echoing into everyday speech, homogenising style and prompting concerns over authenticity in journalism, academia and literature.
