AI tools to streamline heavy-duty vehicle diagnostics
Industry leaders at the American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council Fall Meeting discussed the integration of artificial intelligence in heavy-duty vehicle repair. Panelists emphasized that AI is intended to assist rather than replace technicians by streamlining access to diagnostic information, parts availability, and repair guidance.
Experts noted that while AI can process information in parallel to speed up the diagnostic process, the effectiveness of these tools depends heavily on the quality and accuracy of the underlying data. To maximize the benefits of AI, collaboration between fleets, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and dealers is considered essential.
