Marvin Krieg, a fourth-year apprentice in application development at InfoGuard, describes how artificial intelligence is transforming the software development profession. While AI was initially used as a tool to explain code snippets or summarize school topics, it has now become a standard part of the daily professional routine.

Krieg notes a distinction between different training environments. In inter-company courses, the use of AI was often restricted to ensure students mastered fundamental principles from the ground up. He emphasizes that relying solely on AI-generated code without understanding the underlying logic can lead to significant professional issues later in a career. Consequently, the role of the developer is shifting toward a greater emphasis on understanding, verifying, and taking responsibility for the code produced by AI.
