AI voice adoption reaches 55% of enterprises amid global deployment gaps
New research from AVOXI and Metrigy indicates that AI voice technology has entered mainstream enterprise production. According to the State of International Voice for the Contact Center Report, 55% of organizations are currently using AI voice agents, with 92% of organizations planning to use them within the next two years.
Despite high adoption rates, a significant gap exists between enterprise operations and AI deployment. While organizations serve customers in an average of 37 countries, their AI voice deployments are limited to an average of only 17 countries. This disparity is more pronounced in large multinational corporations; those operating in 50 or more countries have deployed AI voice across only an estimated 25-30% of their geographic footprint.
Key barriers to global expansion include security and compliance concerns, cited by 61% of respondents, and data sovereignty and privacy requirements, cited by 51%. Current applications of the technology include authentication and identity verification (81%), transactional tasks (69%), and real-time agent assistance (68%). Most enterprises are using AI to augment human staff, with 67% reporting that the technology helps agents focus on more complex or empathetic cases.
