AI wearable devices launch to facilitate real-time language translation

New AI-powered wearable devices are emerging to assist travelers and professionals in overcoming language barriers through real-time translation and transcription.

In China, iFLYTEK has introduced the Pokee, an ultra-lightweight AI voice recorder weighing 22.5 grams. Designed for seamless integration during travel, it supports 11 languages and over 200 dialects. The device utilizes the iFLYTEK Spark Large Model to automatically generate structured meeting minutes and mind maps from recorded audio, facilitating easier organization of travel notes and professional discussions.

In Japan, the X9, a smartphone-attached AI translator, offers a slim profile of approximately 5mm. This ring-style device attaches magnetically to the back of a phone and supports 146 languages. It features simultaneous interpretation modes, real-time text transcription, and offline translation capabilities when language data is pre-downloaded. The device is positioned as a tool for travelers, business professionals, and language learners to facilitate smoother cross-cultural communication.
