AIA and Tottenham Hotspur host record-breaking youth football cup in Taiwan

The fourth annual ‘AIA x Spurs Elementary School Football Elite Cup’ concluded with a record-breaking 191 participating teams. Organized by AIA Taiwan in partnership with the English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, the tournament expanded to a 12-day schedule covering four major regions in Taiwan.

This year’s competition introduced a new dynamic qualification mechanism based on the number of participating teams in each region to ensure fairness, a method modeled after international football standards like the FIFA World Cup. Winners of the various age groups earned the opportunity to participate in a professional training camp led by Tottenham Hotspur international development coaches.

Beyond the tournament, the partnership includes the ‘AIA Eastern Multiplier Program,’ which focuses on talent cultivation in eastern Taiwan. The initiative recently received the ‘Best Social Responsibility Award’ from the Insurance Benevolence Awards for its long-term commitment to sports and education in the region.
