AIADMK initiates legal actions against Tamil Nadu ministers

The AIADMK party in Tamil Nadu has initiated multiple legal and formal actions against members of the ruling government following recent political developments.

The party issued a legal notice to Energy and Law Minister CTR Nirmal Kumar, demanding a public apology and Rs 1 crore in compensation. The notice follows allegations made by the Minister that AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami had converted the party into a private entity to protect personal assets.

Additionally, the AIADMK has filed a criminal defamation suit against Public Works and Sports Development Minister Aadhav Arjuna. The suit concerns remarks allegedly made during a press conference on October 10 regarding the party and Palaniswami.

Separately, the AIADMK submitted a memorandum to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The complaint alleges that ministers from the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) have encouraged political defections and are responsible for an artificial electricity shortage in the state, including claims of corruption regarding power procurement costs.
