AIADMK stages walkout over fisherman's death in Tamil Nadu

AIADMK MLAs, led by party leader Edappadi K Palaniswami, staged a walkout from the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday. The protest occurred after the assembly did not admit an attention motion regarding the death of a fisherman from the Mayiladuthurai district.

Palaniswami stated that the fisherman, identified as Maaveeran, was allegedly shot dead by sea pirates. Additionally, three other fishermen from the same group are currently receiving medical treatment in Saudi Arabia.

The AIADMK leader demanded that the state government take immediate action to recover the deceased fisherman's body and bring it back to Tamil Nadu. Palaniswami criticized the government, alleging that despite claims of protecting Tamils, the administration has failed to ensure safety for citizens both domestically and abroad.
