Aibou Season 25 premieres with national crisis storyline

The long-running Japanese detective drama ‘Aibou’ begins its 25th season with a special premiere titled ‘PM Crisis: The Prime Minister’s Secret and the Trap of Secret Pacts.’ The new season marks a milestone as the longest-running continuous drama series in Japan.

The premiere follows Ukyo Sugishita and Kaoru Kameyama as they investigate the stabbing of a presidential aide. The investigation leads them to Prime Minister Hihoma Mizoguchi and uncovers potential scandals involving redevelopment projects and anonymous leaks to the press. The plot also weaves in Kameyama’s past connections to a former student from Salwin and hints at the involvement of the Hadria Federation.

A significant development for the series is the announced transition of the ‘partner’ role, as Kaoru Kameyama is set to pass the baton to Mikoto Kobe.
