AICA digitizes access control at national AI data center

The Artificial Intelligence Industry Cluster Agency (AICA), which operates South Korea’s largest national AI data center and AI demonstration center, is transitioning from manual paper visitor logs to a digital identity authentication system.

Barun Information Technology has supplied its ‘Zero PASS’ public institution access management system to AICA in Gwangju. The new system replaces traditional paper logs with a mobile-based authentication process. Visitors can verify their identity using QR codes via government mobile IDs or private authentication services such as Naver, Kakao, and PASS.

The digital shift aims to address security and efficiency concerns associated with paper logs, such as inaccurate information, privacy risks from exposed contact details, and difficulties in systematic record management. The Zero PASS system features encrypted data storage with automatic deletion policies and includes kiosks equipped with voice guidance and intuitive user interfaces. The system has also obtained the Cloud Service Security Assurance (CSAP) SaaS certification, meeting the security standards required for public institutions.
