AIDA Cruises hosts basketball event in Hamburg

AIDA Cruises and Kellogg’s hosted the AIDA Basketball Day aboard the AIDAperla in the Port of Hamburg on August 29, 2026. The event served as a highlight of the AIDA Basketball Summer 2026 and coincided with the Orlando Magic Summer Tour, marking the first time the tour has stopped at a cruise ship.

Taking place one week before the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin, the event brought together fans, influencers, and basketball personalities. Attendees included NBA legend Mickaël Piétrus and 2024 Paris 3x3 Olympic champion Sonja Greinacher, alongside delegations from the Rostock Seawolves and Hamburg Towers.

Key activities included the Orlando Magic Clinic, where youth players trained on the ship’s open-air sports deck, as well as shooting challenges and a live podcast featuring André “Dré” Voigt.
