Aidan Chiles named starting quarterback for Northwestern

Northwestern head coach David Braun has named Aidan Chiles as the starting quarterback for the Wildcats. Chiles, a transfer from Michigan State and Oregon State, will make his debut on September 5 against South Dakota State.

Chiles secured the position over sophomore Ryan Boe and West Virginia transfer Nicco Marchiol. Chiles brings significant experience to the role, having recorded over 4,100 career passing yards and 27 touchdowns. His dual-threat capabilities, including his ability to rush for yardage, are noted as a key factor in his selection for the offense.

Nicco Marchiol, who joined Northwestern after playing for West Virginia, did not win the starting role. Factors cited regarding the decision include Chiles' mobility and the timing of his commitment to the program.
