AIDAperla cruise ship collides with pier in Le Havre
The cruise ship AIDAperla collided with a pier in the port of Le Havre, France, after being torn from its moorings by strong storm gusts on Tuesday afternoon. The incident caused gangways to fall into the water, but no injuries were reported.
According to AIDA Cruises, the vessel was moved from its position due to a weather front. Tugs were utilized to return the ship to its berth, which it successfully reached by approximately 18:30.
Technicians and authorities are currently conducting a thorough inspection of the ship to check for structural damage resulting from the collision. The vessel is currently on a cruise originating from Hamburg, with scheduled stops in Zeebrugge and Rotterdam before returning to Germany.
