Critics caution that the technology is unsuitable for mission‑critical Java applications that underpin banks, hospitals and public services. Automated code often contains exploitable vulnerabilities – a Veracode study found 45 % of AI‑generated apps with security flaws – and the ambiguity of natural‑language prompts can produce behaviour that diverges from the intended design.
